This week – Pet Expert and “Edutainer” Arden Moore joins us to talk about her travels around the country and the opening of new dog parks here in the USA as well as the National Dog Party Day. Dr. Patrick Mahaney joins us to wrap up the series on his visit to Peru while doing volunteer veterinary work and seeing the “Elephant Dog.” Dick Rolf CEO of the Dove Foundation checks in to talk about the family friendly summer movie releases around the country. Jeff takes some time to relay a story from a fourth of July when Butch was only a couple of years old that almost ended in a tragic loss. He wants you to learn from his mistakes in not knowing as much as he thought he did about Butch. Dr. Jennifer Jellison has been on Regis and Kelly, The Today Show and Good Morning America on many occasions and now she is opening her new veterinary practice in Ohio. Jeff shares another summer story about Butch that proves a little training can definitely prevent a tragedy but it takes repetition and perseverance. Hour 1

This week – Shane Reynold – TV personality, writer, producer, camera man, and all around adventurer joins us to talk about his new series“Shane Untamed” on National Geographic’s NAT GEO WILD channel.

He has travel the corners of the earth to put together a great episodic documentary. He’s out to experience a world of wild animals and wild spaces that most of us only dream of seeing and, along the way, explore the people and cultures that call these incredible, and often remote, places home. Animal Control officers are ticketing owners of “vicious dogs” in cities around the country including Pit Bulls, and one of the “political” talk show hosts misinterpreted the San Francisco law banning Pet Sales in the City. We are also joined by “Frosting Fran” of the K9 Cakery and she will talk about baking for dogs and some of the items they have to offer in addition to the National Dog Party Day! After the tornados, Joplin Mo. Humane Society needs some help with rescued animals. Are you getting married with your pet in the wedding party, well you have to listen to this show!

In the spirit of keeping our summer reading conversation going author Alison Pace joins us to talk about her new novel “A Pug’s Tale” which was released this month. Alison has been a friend of the show for a couple of years when her previous book “City Dog ” was released. Both Enjoyable reads for this summer! Karen Everhardt is the Executive director of Rainbow Meadows Equine Rescue and Retirement facility in Kansas. She joins us to talk about how this wonderful facility started and what it takes to keep and equine rescue and sanctuary going on a daily basis. Babesiosis… have you heard of this? Well it’s just one more of the infectious gifts that ticks can transmit to YOU AND YOUR PET! Dianne Sawyer reported on this on ABC News and Jeff takes a look at this disease that can actually be fatal for up to 20% of the people who catch this!

This week – Neurologist and professor at the University of Pittsburgh Dr. Dawn Marcus is back with us to talk about the release of her new book “The Power of Wagging Tails.” Therapy dogs are doing unbelievable work helping people cope with various ailments and now Dr. Marcus is doing a study of the use of therapy dogs in waiting rooms. She also talks about how your dog could possibly make a great therapy dog. Dr. Patrick Mahaney is with us for the 4th part of the series about his visit to Peru…exotic animals a three toed sloth. Dr. Marcus also hangs around to talk about how exposing your baby to pets can help them avoid allergies later in life. She has been involved with many studies regarding this. Buck a new film about the REAL Horse Whisperer is out this weekend. Pets are getting sick from Cicada Ingestion, and Dogs are dying of Parvovirus in our news segment.

Dana Humphrey of Whitegate PR in New York and San Diego is with us to talk about the first “National Dog Party Day” simultaneously being held in both cities on June 24th.
