I had the rare privilege this week to interview a couple of the great expedition leaders for NatGeo’s series “Expedition Week!” We went slightly off topic this week but I just couldn’t help but be drawn in by the opportunity to get some of these interesting people on the show! Some expeditions are scary and some are intriguing but they are ALL entertaining.  Piers Gibbon travels to the heart of the Ecuadorian Jungle to find the head shrinking natives and describes his journey. This week we discussed our trip to Philadelphia and the experience of being at the show. National Geographic's Homezone is an Interesting Site for Family Friendly content!

We also were able to talk to Alison Wagner the President and CEO of National Geographic’s Scholastic Publishing about a great new program to help kids and young people stay sharp if they have to miss school due to the flu outbreak! This program keeps youngsters engaged and interested and can be found at National Geographics Homezone on their WebSite. Vet to the Stars!

This week Dr. Patrick talks about another case of H1N1 found in a feline and also pet diarrhea.  Now, it’s not a topic you want to discuss during dinner but a messy part of pet parenting (and child parenting) that we all must deal with sooner or later! Listen in for information on when it gets to be a serious problem and when it’s time to get to a vet!

With all of the talk about the “Swine Flu” or the “H1N1 Virus” Dr. Patrick also offered information on if this will affect your pets.
