David Frei has been an expert analyst and commentator for the National Dog Show presented by Purina since the beginning 9 years ago. He has participated in every aspect of Dog shows over the years and is currently the Directoer of Communications for Westminster Kennel Club in New York City. David joins us this wee to talk about the upcoming Dog Show at the Philadelphia Expo Center which will be televised on Thanksgiving day right after the Macy’s Parade on NBC!

This historical show happens only every 5 years!

Wayne Fergusen is the Show Chair for this historic Dog show and he is also the President of the Kennel Club of Philadelphia which is the hosting club for the National Dog Show presented by Purina. He is also the Voice of the Dog shows who announces each individual dog as it enters the ring. You’ve heard him on TV and he is with us to talk about both of these grand shows.

Ernesto Lara is a handler who works out of Greenfield Kennel in Bowmansville, PA, which is just a few miles from the 2008 shows in Reading.  He began his trade in his native Mexico and then moved to the United States in 1994 to train under Peter Green.  He served as Green’s top protégé until Green retired and now runs the kennel. He plans to show as many as 30 dogs at the National Dog show presented by Purina. He specializes in Terriers, handling two Top 10 in the breed. Dogpile.com’s Search and Rescue program has a goal of raising $1 million through the end of 2009 by inviting consumers to do what they already do – search the Web.

A study of current giving trends conducted by Dogpile.com found that Americans who typically give to charities are cutting back on their donations by nearly half from last year, and they expect that animal charities will suffer among the most compared to other organizations and civic causes. The situation is compounded by the fact that nearly one in five Americans has had to give up a pet – or know someone who has – due to financial hardship…
