This week – Hour 1 – Mark Clement is the Senior VP of Sales and Marketing for Gamma2. Now you may know Gamma2 by another name “Vittles Vault” and they have been around for awhile and are available …literally everywhere. These specially designed environmentally tight containers and systems are made to keep your pet’s food fresh and mold free for much longer than just rolling the bag down. Ever eat potato chips that have been exposed to the air for a day or two? Flat stale chips is what you get…well your pet’s dry cat or dog food is no different from those chips, they absorb as much moisture as they can at every opportunity. Jos Zamzow is the founder of Dynamite Specialty products and he joins Jeff to talk about a problem he had when looking for wholesome treats to give his pets. The difficulty was finding treats that did not have chemicals in them with names too long to pronounce! Jos took on the challenge of making treats that HE knew would be healthy for animals and has come up with many products for just about any pet you can think of. Canine Cookies are the latest creation and he sleeps better knowing the natural ingredients he is using while making a good treat for his pets. Pet Expert Charlotte Reed

As I began my journey last year of having the book released and starting the radio show, I had no idea of the things I would be doing or the people I would be meeting. In the first few years of having Butch I had met so many nice people and pet owners that I had a pretty good feeling about the direction I was headed, but being a music producer I was a bit aprehensive based on my experience with people in “the business.” Imagine my pleasant suprise last fall when I recieved a phone call from Charlotte Reed effectively welcoming me into the fold. Charlotte put together the Pet Writer’s Conference in New York that I had signed up for and was calling me to say “Hi” and let me know that if I had any questions not to hesitate to let her know! After meeting her las February I learned that she is as delightful in person as she is on the air! Charlotte is a Pet Expert, an author (Miss Fido Manners Complete Book of Dog Etiquette), one of the co-founders of the Metropolitan Dog Club of New York, and an expert on pet products of all kinds! Listen in on our conversation about her many years of experience with pets, pet products and her current gig as the spokesperson for Arm & Hammer Pet Products!

Over the years I have spent much time in Florida visiting relatives and then my parents as they wintered there from Ohio. I got to know Miami and especially the Ft. Lauderdale are very well and enjoyed every bit of it! I love Florida and as I get older hope to make that the winter location for MBB Radio! OK, enough of my commentary…Sara Schlossman of Sun Shine Airedalers of Florida was kind enough to join us from sunny Florida…well it was storming during our chat…but still Florida none-the-less! As you know by reading my book, I have done a lot of studying on how to take the best care of Butch possible. It never fails that Dr. Donna teaches me something new almost every week. She loves our pets almost as much as we do and has devoted her life to the best care possible for them. Dr. Donna Spector helps me through a problem that Butch has had with his annual shots. Parvo, Distemper shots seem to cause Butch some problems. Is he allergic to the shots? Is your pet allergic to shots? Listen to Dr. Donna walk me through the need for these shots and help me understand the dosages, and some testing that can be done to see if he even needs them annually… not to mention what I can do if we find that Butch is actually allergic to the shots and other important information!

I’m a tough sell when it comes to pet products ESPECIALLY foods and treats. Probably because I don’t believe the first sales pitch I hear until I investigate whatever is being sold to me. I mean c’mon, it takes me 6 months to buy a car! Like most pet owners, I’m always on the look out for new products and services to help Butch lead a happy healthy safer life. I love the little guy so I want to keep him with me as long as absolutely possible! So being that I travel to many of the biggest functions in the country for my book and the radio show, I have the opportunity to learn of products of all types, shapes, sizes, and tastes that claim to bring some type of enjoyment or benefit to your pet’s well being. I investigate most of them and always run them past Butch for his opinion. While at Westminster this year in February I was handed a couple of samples and a pamphlet on HALO brand products. Looking through it, I recalled that this was the company that Ellen DeGeneres liked so much that she bought a stake in them. Hmmm, I thought Butch needs to check this out, but he probably will not like it. He has quite the discriminating palette. Hello HALO! He LOVES it! The fact that he gobbled it up is one thing but after investigating the ingredients and the company further I was completely sold. Butch recommends HALO dog food very highly and I like the company and the care they place on each of the products they offer. I can’t say enough about them and from now on you will always find HALO products in my pantry for Butch!
