This week: Hour 1 – The Global Pet Expo from Orlando Florida. Interviews from businesses we all have heard of and many new ones with interesting products and services. People from England, Sweden, India, and the good old USA with new products and businesses attended this event. Bissell Sweeper, Buckledown, Company of Animals, Tropiclean, Rubits, Litter Robot, Sunrise Greetings. The $48 billion pet industry is alive and well in the USA! Also Cassie of the One Step Closer Animal Rescue that rescues those that will be euthanized in overcrowded shelters.
Hour 2 – More interviews from the Global Pet Expo in Orlando Florida. ShooTag, Huckpaw Wipes, Just Ducky, Kristen Levine, WarrenLondon,Spring Naturals, Zukes, Petmate. Also a Quick interview with Animal Planet’s Victoria Stilwell after she accepted her Media award for her show “It’s Me or the Dog” and her contribution to the education and care of Dogs.

Hour 1 – This week Jeff has the interview with Pat Cooper from the dinner they had together in New York during Jeff’s Westminster trip. Pat’s new book “How Dare You Say How Dare Me” is a look at Pat’s life in comedy and some of the people he knew and worked with like Frank Sinatra, Jerry Lewis, Dean Martin, Tony Bennet and others. Monica King of the German Shepherd Rescue of Georgia joins us for the rescue segment and also Dr. Patrick Mahaney talks about the H1N1 cases that have been popping up again in animals in the United States. Also some discussion on Japan’s tragedy and the National Cherry Blossom Festival coming up in Washington on March 26th. Hour 2 – This hour Jeff Talks about Nitro’s Law which concerns an animal cruelty case that saw a large rottwieler dog starved to death by the care takers. Dr. Patrick Mahaney talks about the national campiagn to pass the law in Ohio. The Dove Foundation wants you to vote for the family friendly movie of 2010 and in honor of St. Patrick’s day …Irish Dog Breeds and Cats of the British Isles. Amy Grice of the MN Midwest Pug Rescue joins us to talk about the breed and what is done when PUGs need a good home. Also Jeff talks about the approaching Spring and some of the things to do with your pet now that we can finally get back outside!

Hour 1

This week Jeff talks with Caroline Kisko the Secretary of “The Kennel Club” in England that is actually the sponsor and presenter of “CRUFTS” Dog Show which is the largest dog show in the world going on this weekend in Birmingham England. Theresa Delano of the Boston Terrier Rescue of North Carolina that handles surrounding states also, in addition Theresa learned of us through Jeff’s book My Buddy Butch and was glad to know he didn’t die at the end of the story she gives a review. News and announcements.

Hour 2

This hour Monica of the Pet Chamber of Commerce in South Florida joins Jeff to talk about exactly what it is they do for businesses and other opportunities in the pet business and some of the permits, certifications, and licenses that may be needed to start your business. Again with the economy the way it is, many people are starting their own pet business and the Pet Chamber of Commerce can help. The Buzzards return to Hinkley Ohio on March 15th to mark the start of spring and believe it or not this can be a great family outing. Also Bed Bug Prevention devices and the story of the million fish that died at the LA marina and the Boxer dog that fell over and stopped breathing during a training session and was revived. We talk about the reason this happened. This video is hard to watch due to the panick that the owner goes through during this ordeal.

This week Debby Lening joins us to talk about “Women In The Pet Industry Association” and what she is doing for not only women but businesses of all types that are involved in the pet product world. With the economy the way it is many people are trying to start their own businesses. Rescue of the week is Paws For Life in Michigan and Courtney Sanders stops by to talk about the pets they are saving and what they can do for abandoned pets. Tick season is right around the corner and Jeff shares a tip from Dr. Nancy Kay author of “Speaking For Spot” on how to remove them from your pet. Also News and announcements…rabies vaccine pellets are working to reduce the number of cases they are seeing in NY so this will be spreading to more states.

Jeff Catches up with Lisa Peterson – Director of Communications for the AKC who talks about the Oscars and the survey that they did on the favorite canine movie of 2010. Also the Top U.S. Airlines for traveling with your pet. Oregon Dachsund Rescue Inc., Patti Galle joins us to talk about their efforts and the breed. Catching up on National news stories from veterinarians and also other announcements.

From the Westminster press conference Tom Bradley Westminster Show Chairman talks about the new breeds added by the AKC and how it impacts the dog show and also weighs in on Paulo Dondino the Italian judge. Update on Chico the Chihuahua that was attacked by a great Horned Owl in January.… Also News and announcements. Hour 2 – Jeff Catches up with Dr. Patrick Mahaney our “Vet To The Stars” from Hollywood California to discuss the veterinary perspective on dog shows. In addition Dr. Patrick Talks about his trip to NY and Westminster and the Veterinary facilities on site at the Garden. Also Cheryl from the Arizona Beagle Rescue and a quick link and discussion on how snake bites are becoming more of a problem.
